Crunchyroll does have better translations but they watched seasons 1-3 on Netflix.

2020-09-12 18:51:01 +0000 UTCI noticed that too... When Gin left soul society he told Rangiku “ I’m Sorry” but the translation was different on Netflix. That was first inclining that Gin might be a good guy. The wrong translation messes everything up.

So the Shinigami are pretty Japanese, obviously, but now we're getting introduced to the Arrancar (spanish word, meaning to tear, probably in reference to tearing off their masks) and their naming conventions are in spanish and even the music is latin inspired. I tried to learn that dueling Cello song but it goes OFF
