2025-10-04 04:54:33 +0000 UTC[Tidbits] - Nnoitra writing deals in some pretty notable symbolism, if you pay attention to his design and listen to his ideology you'll find his theme is pretty interesting. This is better explained once his character is shown through and through - In Bleach we learned that Hollow Masks are made from their hearts from when they were hhhhHuman. The concept being that they Lose their heart (which is why Hollows always have a Hole in them) and all that is left is Instinct, the mask protects that instinct. (But yes, seemingly ripping their masks off enacts some form of regression, and symbolically it means to rip their hearts away, leaving them bare and unprotected) - In the Manga when Nnoitra grabs hold of Orihime, he doesn't just cover her mouth, he sticks his fingers in her mouth in an obviously suggestive manner, further showing his more vile qualities. (The Anime likely kept this out for rating reasons)
