But to me the FL is the ancestor of Maomao in terms of intelligence and and pure "Let me do my own things" type of vibe ๐. Even if you don't record it, i strongly suggest Michelle to go for it as it is also of the same vibe has Akatsuki no Yona๐ฅฐ!

Just like Apothecary Diaries, it combines intrigue, mystery, and complex character development in a historical setting. However, one important difference is that itโs also a boyโs love story. While, the anime version had to tone down or omit the romantic elements due to censorship in China, the relationship between the two main characters still evolves throughout the story. Even if itโs framed as deep friendship on screen, you can clearly feel the underlying romantic tension and emotional growth between them. Apart from that, youโll really find all the elements you enjoyed in The Apothecary Diariesโwith a bit more action and even a touch of horror (monster/ghost) added in.
