if God doesn't "need us" why did Jesus tell us to go and make disciples of all nations and to be witnesses in Jerusalem...and to the ends of the earth? Growing up in and then serving in and with the C&MA I was always taught that only when the gospel was preached as a testimony to all nations would "the end" come (Matt. 24:14)...as missionaries on home assignment we were always told to challenge youth to go into "fulltime Christian service" or better yet to be cross cultural missionaries to "speed the return of Christ" (we were called to Christ to call others...) was it a false assumption that implied God needed us and our service???
