The anime started in 2012 while the manga started in 1987, it is 10 years older than Naruto, One Piece etc. But JoJo is a top 10 best selling manga of all time and huuuge in Japan, it just took longer to get into the western world. Also, Koichi's stand is neither Proverb or Reverb, it's Echoes but the subtitles you use have it wrong

2025-11-20 22:40:20 +0000 UTCJojos is also really damn old. The first chapter of jojo and dragon ball manga both came out within a few months of each other in the late 80s. But it was really popular from like 2013-2017 when anime wasnt fully mainstream like it is now.

The author is super respected for his artwork... lemme just glaze real quick - In 2009, Araki participated in an exhibition at the Louvre Museum!! He unveiled "Rohan Kishibe Goes to the Louvre (Rohan au Louvre)" - In 2013, collaborative works he created with Gucci were showcased worldwide in the fashion brand's directly operated stores. - In 2018, the Hirohiko Araki JoJo Exhibition: Ripples of Adventure was held in the National Art Center, Tokyo. This was the first time that a solo exhibition of an active manga artist has been held at a national art museum!!!!!!!!! - Jojo's has inspired the names of 3 newly (well, newly at the time) discovered species!! For example, someone discovered a new type of Tardigrade and named it after Yukako's stand!! Say what you want about your fave mangaka, but araki is objectively on a pedestal
