2025-12-09 16:00:52 +0000 UTCSee this is where you need to see one peice from all sides to civilians to just normal people in the marines if he is not a good guy at least portrayed by the world. In my opinion and Luffy is an amazing guy but to the outside view, he is a greedy anarchist he’s very chaotic and doesn’t really care about the damage he does. That’s why Sanji n Zoro had to stop him when he used that spinning move in thriller bark he would’ve destroyed the whole island they said. Luffy lives how he wants. He’s not a hero a “good” guy he just does what he wants he has opposed the world government in person multiple times making him a literal global terrorist also released hundreds if not, thousands of horrible people that were locked up for who knows what type of crimes not everyone but I know some people in that group needed to stay in impel down. That being said I love it and wish I had a life that free lol I work gdamn 14-15 hours a week average and it’s the “slow season”. Blue collar actually fell from a 8 foot latter the other day my side hurts but it will heal.

2025-12-07 04:00:15 +0000 UTCYou’re on the money with this one, in my opinion, Ron. Ending the cycle of hatred is one thing, but you should still report murders lol

2025-12-06 21:47:49 +0000 UTCShe was a child this kind of decisions making was beyond her plus she was always in her tower after her mom died. I don’t think you understand how little she interacted with anyone. That’s why her social skills devolve into just crying. She’s still just a kid with no life experience. She’s only 16 why do yall expect adult decision making from people who aren’t adults

2025-12-06 14:05:48 +0000 UTCShirahoshi should at least tell her family and let them decide what to do.I agree with Ron on this one

2025-12-06 14:03:55 +0000 UTCThats why there are tons of viewpoints that One Piece shows, and thats why i love One Piece. Not everything that is done in the show supposed to be the "right thing". She took that ideal from her mother and made her own to the point that she won't even hold a grudge against Hordy. Hence the involvement of the strawhats that make things right.

2025-12-06 13:31:17 +0000 UTCAlso, I think it's safe to say Shirahoshi didn't know who Hody was and how dangerous he was to all of Fishman Island. She was very disconnected from the outside world. She probably only found out who Hody really was through Jimbei's telling of Fishman history. In her mind all she was doing was letting go of resentment and choosing to let what had happened, her mother's death, stay in past. Not that her choice was correct in any way, but it's not like it ruins the story or goes against her character or feel forced. Idk, I'm someone who never gets offended, never holds any resentment and can let even the worst offense slide, so neither Shirahoshi's choice nor Otohime's ideals and actions seem that farfetched to me.

2025-12-06 13:14:51 +0000 UTCRegarding Shirahoshi, and the theme of letting go of hatred, I think it's a matter of cultural differences. The west is very big on "getting your get back" and taking matters/justice into your own hands. Individualism and the personal pursuit of happiness are core values to westerners. Japan, though, follows more Bhuddist values. Bhuddism teaches that revenge and resentment are wrong, and one should focus on forgiveness, patience and acceptance of injustices done to one self. Christianity also teaches this, since the Bible condems that raking of revenge and paying back evil for evil. It teaches to love your enemies. They're both very similar, but from a very American point of view, these ideals seem impractical, outdated, weak, and nonsensical. This is from Google, regarding Japan's Modern view on vengeance: "Modern Japanese culture often emphasizes group harmony and community over individual grievances. Forgiveness, often through ritualized public apologies, is valued, and the needs of the group can supersede personal vendettas."

2025-12-06 13:05:55 +0000 UTCOda once said that if Shanks were there and he used his conqueror's haki the whole fishmen crew would have been knocked out.
