2025-12-15 20:32:07 +0000 UTCIt's really sad to hear what you experienced. I believe people in China are also taught to not forget about what Japan did in China. Maybe even to hate(of course that I can't say). Why I say this is because I went for a trip in China and booked a local tour(a very local no tourist kind) there directly and guess what happened during the bus journey? They were playing a documentary(more like a propaganda video) on the Nanjing massacre on repeat throughout the whole tour. I was actually disgusted and did not enjoy the tour as much because of it even though I got to go and climb the Great Wall of China during the tour. I do not know if they still do this but I hope that children in the country aren't brainwashed and learn to think for themselves and open their hearts despite the history.

My dad is really similar to Hordy because he grew up in China and he heard so many stories about Japan and also his dad my grandpa got affected by Japanese attacking that he hated Japan in their guts one wrong step who knows my dad can become a terrorist. I remember growing up and my dad would always tell me that Japan is evil, Japanese is evil he even won’t let me to eat Japanese dish and anime. I had to watch anime secretly, yes including One Piece. So I am able to watch one piece now whenever I want is such a blessing. If I had stayed in China and never watch One Piece, who knows I might be the next Hordy, when I was really really young maybe around 8. I actually hated Japanese because of all the voices around me and what they did to my Grandpa, my grandpa when he was a baby because of the bombing from Japanese he lost his hearing and forever become deaf and a mute and been look down by his family and his peers and had a really depressing life because of it. Thats part of the reason why my dad was so revengeful against the Japanese. As a grew older, moving to Canada and learning about the world, learning about racism watching One Piece really pull me out of the rug and let go of my hatred and eventually reformed maybe around the age of 13 I would say. Sorry for the long rant, props to anyone that read this comment lol
