In fact first-cousin marriage is allowed in most countries of the world. USA is the only country we know where it can be a crime. It's still taboo tho like homosexuality.

2021-01-29 10:02:15 +0000 UTCJust to add to what he said, first-cousin marriage is allowed in Japan... in fact, first cousin marriage is the most common form of marriage in pre-modern societies and was not at all rare in even urban areas in pre-war Japan, but it has become a rarity today. Actually, I think as recent as 2010, Japan's prime minister was married to his first cousin, but don't quote me on that.
