2021-02-08 23:38:41 +0000 UTCYou’re right. They do need him. Although, if they are going to double cross Zeke, it would be best if they turn Historia into a Titan and eat Zeke. That way, they would still have a Titan of Royal Blood along with Eren as the Founding Titan to activate the Rumbling. If they kill Zeke right away without him being eaten, it would be problematic if they still want to activate the Rumbling. They would have to sort to turning Historia into a Titan to eat either Eren to have the full power of the Founder or Armin or Annie to be considered a Titan of royal blood (unless they go back and capture one of Marley’s Titans to be eaten). The first option is better in my opinion, but overall Zeke dying still makes things complicated.

2021-02-08 01:57:58 +0000 UTCThey do need Zeke because in order to activate the rumbling, as Eren mentioned, you need a titan with royal blood and the founding titan. Historia is not a titan therefore they cant activate the rumbling with just her and Eren. With that being said, we know Levi gives 0 fucks regardless so we don't know what he'll do. But Eren was wrong in his assumption that Historia could be used as a pawn back in season 3, hence why he told them now when Zeke told them the truth in his letter
