2021-12-17 06:27:07 +0000 UTCOh, BTW, Thawne's statement about future events is accurate. In 1x23 he said he was born 136 years from now. Here in 8x05, he says "nearly two centuries from now". So... figuring he was in his 40s when he gained his speed and became Reverse Flash, that would be 176 years from now at the earliest, more likely around 180 years, or.... nearly two centuries from now.

I kept thinking “wow, give them a break Joe, they are just trying to keep you and others safe”. But I was also thinking “that’s right Joe, scold them some more, GIVE MORE SCOLDINGS JOE, MORE!!!!!!!!!”

2021-12-15 13:07:44 +0000 UTCDespero's plan would have worked had he not been stopped. By going nuclear, he would have wiped out everyone in the City, that could have helped save Thawne. Now, Thawne himself would have been protected in the force field, like how Barry and Nora were protected in the time vault in 5x08 when the particle accelerator blew. Afterwards, only Thawne would have existed in the city, but then would have faded, his time being up. It's similar to how if someone determines someone they want to die is on a commercial flight, he'll try to crash the plane and kill hundreds just to make sure that the one person is dead too. Despero was willing to destroy Central City and kill millions to make sure Thawne died too from fading from the timeline. To him, killing millions would have saved billions in the future by preventing Armageddon.
