There are about 3,000 soul repears that are apart of the 13 Gotei squads in total. If you count the people that are currently training at the soul reaper academy, imprisoned, doing work in the human world and the members of the Stealth Force and the Kido Corps, that number literally doubles to just over 6,000 soul reapers. So depending on how you look at it, The soul repears either lost 1/3 or 1/6th of all of their members in a few minutes 😭

2022-11-01 20:41:41 +0000 UTCHaving not read the manga, I consider your comment a spoiler. Just because it wasn't confirmed in the manga, doesn't mean they won't provide an explanation in the anime. Either way, people watching the anime are expecting an explanation. Even without confirmation in the manga, your comment spoils the fact that they won't be receiving an explanation. At the very least, it spoils some of the Sternritter's spiritual pressure levels, and sets up expectations for Ichigo that the story didn't want us to have at this moment, knowing now that his bankai can technically be stolen when the story wanted you to believe at this point that it couldn't. A spoiler doesn't have to be just information you would've received later. If it's true information that changes your expectations for what's to come that the story hadn't intended, it's still a spoiler in my opinion.

2022-11-01 16:42:08 +0000 UTCI would say the “Kill the Shadow” title is referring to the Soul Reapers on a mission to kill these intruding Quincies. The “shadow” is referring to the Quincies who have their shadow abilities to teleport (like in the first episode) and the fact they all were never extinguished in the first place shows they been “hiding in the shadows” for a long time or something to finally attack this very moment.

The Sternritters that were able to steal the captains Bankai were as strong or stronger than them, while the two Sternritters that tried stealing Ichigo’s were not. That’s why Ichigo’s Bankai hasn’t been stolen. I literally found this out after reading the manga because they never explained why they weren’t able to steal Ichigo’s Bankai in the manga.
