Aizen had Wondereiss take him on and put him down so Aizen could deliver the final blow (which he didn’t but still), and then now he thinking he was fighting Yhwach this whole time but he was actually fighting an imposter. I do understand why the whole imposter twist was not exactly liked compared to just having the real Yhwach fight and finish him all on his own, but in a way it showed that Yamamoto was truly a monster that the big bads needed to resort to tricks or methods to get the best of him.

Yhwach could take the Bankai at any time. he just wanted Yamamoto distracted so he could speak to Aizen in the prison freely to recruit him. A lot of your annoyances/ questions get answered soon. This arc hasn't even hit its peak yet. Also, Yhwach could kill Aizen, as he said, but it would just take more time than he wants.

2022-11-15 12:48:03 +0000 UTCHe didn't tell him to tire out Yamamoto in order to steal the Bankai, the Quincy sternritter Y transformed into him so that the Soul Society wouldn't realize that Yhwach wasn't there, while he was talking to Aizen. Yhwach was strong enough to take on Yamamoto on his own from the get go.
