Added 2018-02-11 23:37:37 +0000 UTCthis sketch was pleasant, I had a little trouble getting the head on right but I think this makes sense for the most part. their are still some things I want to iron out and maybe move around but this is good for the basic sketch. going to sleep on this one and see if something hits me.
Please let me know what you think! any thing you find wonky or off let me know!

when I sketch the head I tend to start with a simple silhouette of the head so the ears are always a little large. I trim and refine them later on so you are right. I often chisel the head more than sketch it lol.

The only thing I would suggest is that of the ear is a big large relative to the size of the head, and to keep in mind that the width of the finished head at it's widest point should be significantly wider than the neck. Just my two shillings worth...
