I have very strong beliefs about humans and sexual choices, but I don't have a problem facing and discussing the biological influences of our existence.

I studied emergence back when I was doing some AI studies, and this is one of those natural processes that ends up looking complex. The complexity is an illusion though. It's really the result of many, many individual interactions that are usually quite simple in nature - a chemical bound is formed or broken, a protein folds a certain way, or some other physical or chemical process occurs. Evolution works in a very similar manner - it's emergent, it looks complex, but you can always break it down to a lot of simple interactions which makes it look complex and even directed.
