Today I've heard the term "blood quantum" for the first time. I find the history behind the term far more scary than any horror movie.

Thanks! And oh, there are so many great horror films! If you just want something cool/unique to start check out A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, the Iranian vampire western film shot in black and white with a woman director. Not very scary but very cool. That isn't what I alluded to actually. I noticed it but I was alluding to a scene where someone quotes Pulp Fiction directly in a way that felt forced/awkward to me. I was like "agh..." haha

And the movie is, it turns out after looking, of course, a Canadian production :D Seems like an interesting little title, and the directors previous feature ("Rhymes for Young Ghouls") also looks like it's worth checking out. I specifically appreciate the way you navigate the nuances of the various topics here, and, more in general, that you take the time to inform the world of titles like these. As someone not versed in horror films, these and other indie titles (Ginger Snaps 1! Go Canada!) are slowly making me more sympathetic to the genre (working in a cinema have done a solid job of breeding contempt for both commercial horror-genre fare and the kind of asshole behavior that they bring out in attendees of all ages). So, a dense 12 minutes, this. (The trailer opens with the Tarantino-popping-the-trunk-of-a-car-shot, so I'm guessing that's what you alluded to).
