Compared to the rough I changed some background footage since I was barely talking in the footage I had in and was just staring at people, put in a bunch of podcast clips with graphics for when I talk about Branson and about Mark Meer, messed with some graphic timing, messed with audio some, etc to finish this video. I thought about posting this publicly today but after thinking about it a bunch I would rather have something else and something that feels more relevant or useful go up on my public channel next rather than me rambling about comedy, so I'm working on a video on how to do charity streams.
This month I moved right before running a weeklong Make-A-Wish GA charity stream and I think guested on like five different other charity streams for BLM and/or LGBT groups. I honestly have not had motivation to care much about video game reviews, comedy theory, whatever during a global racial equality and anti-police brutality movement. I haven't been protesting due to pandemic-related reasons and have been trying to find ways to help from home other than tweeting or whatever and I'm glad I've been able to help raise some money (we planned the Make-A-Wish stream well in advance and rescheduling wasn't really an option and we still wanted to support them obviously, but we are in the process of planning some charity stuff for Black-led organizations now!). I basically took over the Make-A-Wish stream last minute while I was moving since Joel who was going to run it was busy with protests. So that's where my time has gone this month. Also working on a more serious video essay on getting involved politically on top of the charity stream one but I don't want to rush that one out at all and want to pay a sensitivity reader (and get in the habit of using sensitivity readers since I'm better able to afford them now, especially for videos having to do with race) so idk when I'll do that. The charity stream video feels easier/quicker to write so I'm doing that first. I hope you all are well! Thanks for the support.

Hey thank you! That's what I hoped for with this video! I never want to do straight improv but post-pandemic if you want to try it you should try it! I think watching funny stuff helps a lot too which I want to cover in a future video but that's like going to a museum vs practicing drawing, painting, or sculpting. You're certainly a better artist if you go and look at a variety of art and look at classics along with outsider art and etc, but to be a good painter you have to PAINT haha

I’ve wanted to get funnier after listening to podcasts and watching more standup and even considered doing improv. Your framing of comedy as a skill that requires diligent practice and time is helpful, and the Doc Hammer quote was really interesting. I look forward to checking out the Critical Bits episodes!
