The Process
Added 2022-12-16 23:25:42 +0000 UTCHey! Decided to show a bit more of my process this week (I actually forget if I shared anything like this yet, haha)
I start by drafting the comic out in Storyboard Pro! This is the only part of the process where I draw digitally, just so I can sketch out ideas without wasting paper -- as you can see, these two were gonna be in the store for a few more updates, but I decided to scrap the idea (for now) because I really wanted a change of scenery and to move some other aspects of the story along...plus the original concept ended up feeling way wordier that it was in my head LOL.
Next, I do pencils! I had the idea to share the step-by-step process a little too late, so the first panel of #11 is already inked here, but as you can see the rest starts off all scratchy lookin'! I normally use a non-photo blue pencil, but that week I was too lazy to go sharpen it so I used a normal lead holder to draw, which admittedly made it a bit of a pain to edit after I finished inking -- I usually snap a picture and load it into Clip Studio Paint to adjust the levels, but I had to actually erase the pencils on this one so it wouldn't show up in post-processing.
Finally, here's a sneak peek of comic #12! This time I used the colored pencil ;) Looking forward to moving forward with the story...I wanna build up a decent backlog while I'm on break, but the holidays and my day job will probably get in the way of that, so we'll see how it plays out.
