Now that I finished the base textures for the houses, I started formulating a color theme for them. I used the following reference image to pick my colors:

The theme of the town includes lots of bright earthy pastel like colors. Plenty of yellow and lots of brown.

It's still a work in progress but it will do for now. The next thing I took care of was making the materials for the road:

Again I wanted a worn out aesthetic so I recreated the pebble road of the original town I'm basing this town off of. Fun fact, the pebble road is so old in that town that it is protected by historical laws.

I reused the same "wear" shader that I used for the houses and swapped out the mask with a different wear mask:

This way it looks like grass is growing on it. Looks almost photorealistic which is nice. Then I made the sidewalk:

I had to do a lot of UV grooming to make sure that the textures looked uniform along the side of the road mesh:

Still, I didn't like how flat the sidewalk looked so what I did was add some surflets on top of the mesh. This is a technique where you recreate parts of the texture with a 3D model and place it on top of itself. This adds depth and detail to the texture:

I then started placing some props throughout the map and added some foliage to the floor:

Finally, I have decided to open up the walls of the houses for free advertisement. This means that you can make your own sign and I'll be happy to put it into the game. Contact me in the Discord. I've already received 2 signs! Here's one:

I'm getting real close to finishing the town. The next thing I will be making is the materials for the windows, doors, and balconies. I'm aiming to release the next beta for Supporters so you can explore the new town in a little less than 2 weeks.
