VR Headset Semi-Annual Poll

In order to find out what VR headsets should be catered to, please select what headset you primarily use.

Comments

Rift S user, I imagine most will be either Index or Rift S, as those are the current popular ones atm, and especially the Rift S due to it's price, though the OG Vive is in alot more hands I imagine.

I use a Quest but selected Oculus Rift, as long as you have literally any old USB-C cable you can hook into your computer, it's for all intents and purposes is a Rift S running at 72 hz, no need for the overly expensive official cable. I will say however, the performance is often way better in games that has native support compared to games that has to run though Steam VR (such as the wireless solution). Using a tool to switch methods i'm allowed to max out the settings in Skyrim VR while also gaining a pretty big boost to visual clarity by upping the dynamic resolution, it's like night and day in terms of controller responsiveness too.

Im aware. However OpenXR is not ready and hardly working. The last beta uses the latest beta libraries for OpenXR but it does not work very well with Unity. I still have to use SteamVR Input.

I just created a Patron account and became a supporter just to write this comment. sgthale, you shouldn't need to cater to any specific headset now that OpenXR is a thing. This will enable you to support a wide range of headsets without you needing to specifically support a specific headset. Also Oculus Quest can be used as a PC headset by either using the official Oculus Link or non-official wireless streaming apps. While it would be cool to have a Quest version of your game, the Quest can still be used on a computer to play vr. If you already knew this that is great!

Ill let the poll run for a few more days. Current poll results are (174 votes): 23 I dont use a VR headset. 46 Oculus Rift/Rift S 11 Windows Mixed Reality 43 HTC Vive 41 Valve Index 10 Other

might be worth it to have a stand alone pared down quest version with a couple features, like an earleir version where you take her picture and maybe the bath scene, cutting out the newer stuff like the card playing horseback riding and town.

VR AnimeTed

I use the one from Acer. I was going to joke that there was dozens of us, but it looks more like a handfull...

Felipe Augusto Batista

I also use a Quest with Cable

Blueleader

I'm using Pimax 8k series.

AdventCirno

I use quest too and simply use cable

Peter Vanusanik

I use a Lenovo WMR. You are not alone πŸ˜†

Golly I'm the only one still on WMR, it seems xD

Try using SteamVR BETA. Go to your settings and enable steam beta for SteamVR. Google it. That should work. Afterwards, you need to bind your controls using SteamVR Input. Its a menu insude the Steam pause menu. Should be called "Binding"

I use HTC Vive Cosmos, but i have a problem - gamepads are not recognized for this game, how I can fix this problem?

That one might be difficult to port to. I've been asked many times to port it to Oculus Quest. The problem is that the device is not powerful enough for what I want to do.

sgthale

I use an Oculus Quest
