Beta v0.8i Pre-Release

Code: trailer features

This Beta is the same as the last one except it has a decent amount of bugfixes and new features. It is just a polished version of the trailer that you saw in the YouTube video. The next beta after this will include several behaviors being added back in (poker, sleeping, horse, etc.). I added fireworks in the onsen so you can use them for demo purposes.

Again, to make the lolis swim, select them by holding mouse over them and then point to the swimming pool. Make sure that there is at least 1 working in the reception.

IF YOU HAVE ISSUE WITH VR BINDINGS: Go into SteamVR Input and edit your existing bindings, then click "Add Chords" and make sure RAW is set to POSE.

IF YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH THE LAUNCHER: Uninstall the launcher or delete C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\VivaLauncher   and relaunch it.

This is being addressed for the next beta this week but for now you can go into bindings and set POSE to RAW in the SteamVR Bindings menu.

I've a problem with this version. I open the game and then in options I go into VR mode from my headset and I'm unable to use the hands. They stay at the floor and the tracking from the controllers doesn't work but the buttons do. I use a Valve Index

How did you get the installer to launch properly? Mine is doing the same thing.

I have an issue with the launcher. Any time I try opening it after installing it, it displays the logo for about 1 second and then just closes. I've tried uninstalling/deleting the files as suggested to others and then reinstalling but it does not work.

When i open my game shows the viva project logo, then disappears. Help me please

Thanks for the feedback ill be sure to fix these. I dont recommend using the old house at the moment this beta was only for the onsen.

... apparently i am not allowed to reply to my own post, so i'll throw it in here ... Additional testing: - handing a lit rocket over to the gang works as expected, they just get disappointed at not being able to grab the desired item - managed to cause more bugged water splash effect, i was messing around with offering towels to all four in the water. i think i threw one towel into the rocks where you can look down into town. three lolis got the question mark but one got stuck trying to grab it. she couldn't reach it so she stayed somewhere near the stairs but water splash started near the rocks where the towel had landed. splash stopped once i interacted with her again but kept popping up during her idle time. - sound does seem a bit buggy, i feel like after a couple minutes of interactions i am missing about 80% of the happy noises during headpats. i think the animations are playing but i only hear the corresponding sounds very rarely. same for the the end-headpat-noises. maybe something about three of them using the same sound model? - two lolis sticking their hands in each others faces gave me the achievement "Make angry with face poke". this happened when i was standing on the pier in the middle of the bath and offered a towel to the gang who where bunched up in the water below me - sometimes my "phyical presence" seems to grow larger. i was facing a loli trying to headpat and she always backed out of reach of my arm. something similar happens on 0.75.3 where i sometimes cannot get close enough to the kitchen counter. dunno if this is a vr/vive problem

i had to configure controller in 0.8f. but steamvr controller setup is somewhat preconfigured with required actions in 0.8f, so it was very easy to set up. most important seems to be under Edit Action Poses set the entry with "raw" in the name to "pose"

i dont know about occulus, but i had the same problem with vive. trying to mess with the controller settings in steamvr didn't do anything for me, the default profile was already set up with raw->pose, but it still wouldn't work. but i remembered that my controller DID work in 0.8f, so i tried to figure out what was different. i found that 0.8f had a bunch of controller related files in this folder: "Viva Project 0.8f\VivaProject_Data\StreamingAssets\SteamVR\" but 0.8i didn't. i copied them over to 0.8i and that did the trick.

Check the bindings for it and assign Add Chords -> POSE to RAW

The game works in keyboard mode but as soon as I use VR Mode my hands are stuck in the ground and I can't calibrate them because I can't interact with the menu. I'm using an Oculus Rift S.

testing so far looks good: - dev console gets spammed with "Error: Cannot create FMOD::Sound instance for clip "" (FMOD error: Unsupported file or audio format.)". sounds seems to work fine though - on game startup i get "[Autonomy] FAILED swim around body state" or "FAILED walk to desk", i guess some stuff has not loaded in yet. later on it's all "SUCCESS" - when i queued up three lolis for the bath, after the second had recieved her towel and started walking in the reception area there was 2-3 water splash effects under her (could not reproduce) - assign loli to desk, she gets her name tag. then have her follow, name tag goes away. then issue wait there command and sometimes the name tag reappears, although i don't believe she is still assigned to desk - best fun i've had by far was offering a towel to all four and dropping it on the ground. under the right conditions you get a wild ragdoll pile :D - (creepy picture is creepy) - i feel like cat arm swivel time should be longer if agitated by the player, like 3-5 times longer - was happy to see that you implemented proper handling for when you offer a bottle rocket to the gang and launch it before they get a chance to grab it (still gotta test what happens when you hand over a lit rocket) - controls seem to work well, i did not have any problems with accidentally issuing commands ... although the follow command seemd to trigger way too easily for me with vr controls (vive) - even though it can create hilarious situations with pathing i personally feel like that building has way too many sliding doors. is that normal in japan, having walls made entirely of doors? - was very disapponted to notice a distict lack of holo (withdrawn ... i just noticed the Load More button on the cards browser ...) - had a lot of fun messing around with physics. also tried it in 0.8f, was exited to watch a lit rocket push around a crate

did you update the launcher? i downloaded just now, same results as before. i removed the old launcher from AppData/Local and /Roaming, checked that MWI wasn't installed. then i ran setup.exe from the new launcher, showed splash screen for a second. deleted AppData again, then installed again, this time starting with setup.msi followed by setup.exe. same result. newest file timestamp in the new vivalauncher.zip is 09/12/2020 though, so not sure i acutally got a newer vivalauncher from the download.

oh thank god, i finally figured out how to get vive controllers to work i set up the controlls under 0.8f and copied all the content from the subdirectory "Viva Project 0.8f\VivaProject_Data\StreamingAssets\SteamVR\" over to 0.8i.

Worked, but there were tons of ingame errors. Also the loli didn't show up.

tried launching and I got a system error: The code execution cannot proceed because WinPixEventRuntime.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem.

got the installer to work, this happened when installer finished

That worked! So it was either using the older launcher or not installing MWI that did the trick. Thanks a bunch!

I did the following. 1. remove C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\Vivalauncher and C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Vivalauncher (make backup of older Game-Versions if there are some in Roaming\Vivalauncher) 2. uninstall "Machine wide installer" 3. install VivaLauncher (Setup.exe) that came with v0.8g (will end up in C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\Vivalauncher), no "Machine wide installer" (Setup.msi) 4. start VivaLauncher, open Setting, change "Game install directory", otherwise it will be installed to C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Vivalauncher 5. enter redeem code for v0.8.i 6. download 7. after "An exception has occurred:" you'll find v0.8i in "Game install directory" (see 4.), copy "WinPixEventRuntime.dll" from an older Version (v0.8f, g or h). 8. Enjoy

I am also getting the DirectoryNotFound Exception. Too bad it doesn't say which directory. I followed Launcher reinstall instructions, ran setup.exe as Administrator. For me it also installs into AppData/Local/. Tried running the various VivaLauncher.exes in there, also as Admin. Then copied the whole works into AppData/Roaming/, but still nothing, just loading screen, the the Exception hits. Found extracted Game, but missing Files, i.e. "WinPixEventRuntime.dll".

Deleted C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\VivaLauncher. No "Machine wide installer" was installed. Installed "Machine wide installer" (Setup.msi), installed VivaLauncher (Setup.exe). No "C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\VivaLauncher" found, but "C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\VivaLauncher". Starting VivaLauncher via Shortcut on Desktop, crashes immidiately without any error messages.
