WE WENT VIRAL!

WOO. This video by an unknown user racked up 30k views which lead to my game receiving a brief spotlight! The Patreon received 100 new paid members and 250 free members!
Video game marketing as a solo developer is hard, VERY hard. But I feel like people enjoy the short development video blogs of my steady weekly pace. I also repost this content on my YouTube Channel several months later to entice new users with old material.
So with these new funds I am going to hire the old Viva music composer to make some bangers for this adventure game. Also I will be brainstorming a list of art assets that I need to have. The main reason why the game is set in a desert is mainly because it's easy/fast/and simple to create deserts. So thank you for the opportunity to expand my game!
Multi-language Support
I was contacted by a Spanish streamer who wants to play my game but requested the game be in Spanish. So I took this opportunity to implement other Latin/Roman languages.
Everything is now translated including the system prompts used by AI so you can now speak to the character in any of these 4 languages. I will be adding microphone support soon!
Bug Report Tool
This one is very important! Till now it was difficult for bug reports to reach me since most people who played the game did not join my Discord. This bug report tool does away with that! Just point your camera to the offending scene and write a description. My team of highly trained hamsters will relay your screenshot and message and post it in my Discord's bug report channel.
This should definitely help with quickly stomping bugs.
Optimizations
Since most of the game's map has not even been designed yet, the types of optimizations I did were mostly low-hanging fruit to ensure quick-wins and scalability for when the entire map gets implemented and for when I do a proper art pass. So it was mostly occlusion, light LODs, and some project setting tweaks.
Side note:
Many things in the game's UI are temporary and look kinda ugly. I just haven't had time to make them pretty yet. The robot when standing still also feels very stiff and needs some more character animation love. I'll be adding more emotion in the next month's update.
Things are still in a very early state! The game doesn't even have a welcome screen or a proper pause menu! Hard to believe it's that popular already.
Stay tuned!

2024-11-03 23:02:39 +0000 UTCI wonder if there's going to be a dedicated "chat" button. Maybe "T" or "backslash" like other games?
