Preferred VR Play Style POLL

I agree, I'm a VR junkie who almost never gets motion sickness in VR or otherwise, so I'm ok with joystick movement. However, I also understand not everyone has the adaptability to VR that I do. The ideal choice would be all of the above with an option to toggle between them in-game, but I understand that creates more work for the developer.

If it comes down to a choice then setting up the VR comfort level to allow access to the highest number of players would be the best answer.

2026-02-18 04:42:56 +0000 UTCPersonally, I just enjoy whatever's most immersive. Immersion is a very big thing for me in VR, and that includes the overall movement of the game. I like to feel like I'm actually walking around in the world. That said, fading to black when rotating isn't too appealing to me. I know motion sickness is a possible issue to consider, but a good handful of us are quite used to it—myself included. Heck, some of us really enjoy the slight dizziness of movement. But as some have said here, various VR games give options to toggle these things on and off, so it'd be recommended to give players that choice themselves in the options menu. ...Also, I think it would be REALLY FUNNY if there was an option for head rotation not to be locked when say...tumbling and rolling. Would probably be very motion-sickening for sure (and probably could use a warning, and be off by default), but could be funny as hell to experience. Some of us are absolute motion sickness junkies.

2026-02-17 22:34:01 +0000 UTCWoah holy crap I didn't expect to get 55 votes in like 14 minutes. I'll let it run for a couple days but I did take note of arm swinger (never actually used that myself) and maybe maybe teleport controls. Anyone have any comments on full joystick movement details? Like preferring FADE TO BLACK when rotating settings?

2026-02-17 22:28:20 +0000 UTCI enjoy both teleport and smooth joystick locomotion in VR, but I also like arm-swing locomotion where you move by physically swinging your arms at your sides
