Recently, I've been re-implementing low health beeps, death beep sounds and adding the new sound when player is being healed, which also cancels death beep. Plus plenty of volume decreasing when in replay mode and when death beeps happen too frequently due to repeated healing while taking damage. Basically, all this stuff that was in PB2 was still missing in PB3.
Still not sure if I want to alter these beeps. Can't think of anything as of now though.

Regular development update is on March ~10, only $5+/month supporters will be able to see it, as usually.
Also, what would you like to see there?
I'm probably not that open for in-game suggestions as of now since I'm just going through the quite a long to-do list of things that must be added before release.

2024-04-01 22:08:39 +0000 UTCHmm. Someone would have to implement that. Plazma Burst 2 gone by the idea of privacy and letting players meet each other in one place. Also, private servers would not be allowed to influence player stats, which was kind of important for ranked games. It means that some of these private server owners would need to handle their own ranking systems, perhaps (something I plan for Plazma Burst 3 at least). So far Plazma Burst 2 region server source was given to Lin so she can host them. Maybe if enough people suggested servers in South America - she could try renting one.

2024-03-21 23:16:04 +0000 UTCHi ^ Can confirm that it is possible in Plazma Burst 3. It is raw servers though so it could be tricky if server hosting players won't have dedicated IP. Ideally, it should be also possible to play over router's home network with even lower ping. Hopefully, new netcode could also make it more enjoyable to play even with higher ping.

Definitelly thanks to all the support people been sending my way. I do hope you can find nice people, there should be some out there since world is still spinning around. At least, I believe, it is always the people who can improve anyone's life (or ruin too, honestly, so just pay attention).

I think it would be cool for Plazma Burst 3 to have the option for you to create your own server, that would be really good for the game's longevity. This option would also be cool in Plazma Burst 2, because people from South America like me suffer a lot from high ping, creating a custom server solves these problems, with the possibility of creating a server to play a private map with a friend with decent ping.

2024-03-06 04:59:07 +0000 UTCThere is a high crime problem. But that doesn't stop people from visiting for a sunny vacation. Everyone I've met there has been friendly. Damage direction indicators sounds like a great idea, especially for those invisible hitscan bullets the Glock and m4a1 use or maybe a ghost or just generally distracted by other things going on in the map.

Reimplementing incoming damage direction indicators which I like how they are turning out so far. Fighting a sudden wish to overengineer them in terms of customization too.

It is usually also a useful experience as for just trying to work with someone, then they could tell more about what are the common practices in your country. In my country some people are just being paid onto their credit/debit cards, some pay via bank transfers (a bit more complex but still pretty doable by just asking bank staff).

2024-02-29 15:41:59 +0000 UTCYes, there is 3 separate durations for: - Ragdolls; - Dropped non-activated gadgets/grenades; - Guns. So far they can't be configured with level scripts, but it is like 3 lines for me to add to make it work. It will be done, maybe just later.

2024-02-29 15:38:05 +0000 UTCNot exactly. One of my bigger works is a Capture The Island experience that can take months to complete. The story is involved and unlocked as we progress and everything is managed by a Zeus which is an Ingame game master that controls and commands the enemy AI. Most of the stuff I do is written down in a ruleset that I follow. The game is a sandbox so a lot of the things I need to make it work are already done for me. That is why I quite like games like PB as you simplify the ability to create maps and campaigns and such so that players like me with what I would like to say is a pretty good imagination won't have to also take on the big challenge of learning coding to do some crazy stuff. Other than that I'm mostly creating mod packs and fun changes to other games for me and my friend group to enjoy.

In that case salaries just stay same in Euro/USD and scale appropriately with inflation in national currency. I assume you mean these beep sounds? I wonder if you have any reference videos as to how deep they should probably be.

I think it will be easy to make proximity chat or alter range at which sounds can be heard, maybe even depending on sound file name/type via level logic. I did experiment with echoes, but I feel like echoes alter sound effects too much and may cause some performance issues, especially if echo is dependant on position of every sound. Maybe I could work more towards making echo possible in some environments, but will probably revisit it later, maybe even after release.

Perhaps being able to shoot off own legs with a railgun; Another is ragdolls ocassionally backflipping after they have fully played their death animation; Ragdolls spinning at increasing velocity when being hit until they completely break by smashing onto nearby walls; Sticky grenade sticking to player's arm when player tried to throw it; Players breaking their heads on random walls when trying to climb through tiny hole; Players exploding when trying to climb on the same ledge; Possibility to spawn rockets into walls where they will travel rather normally but slower; Players healing their head injuries by blinking; Player somehow ending up being smashed between two static walls while trying to step onto triangle wall (it happened just once many years ago and I couldn't repeat this bug ever again); Water vertices shaking when touched and then eventually glitching out into infinity (rather scary than funny); Players slightly bending their knees synchronously when game's framerate changes; Players stretching abnormally while being sword stuck and being pulled with rope; It is possible to hold onto wheel of some vehicle, lethally to player; It was possible (maybe is still, but I feel like I fixed it) to hold onto sticky gadgets like lights, essentially being sword stuck. Then I could name few intended funny game mechanics like throwing players with walker turrets, but I feel like there were less of these. > Dont think it will be a big problem if you go with the legacy health beeps. Made it so these sounds are client-sided so they could support plenty of alterings later on.
