Oh 100% steam not even a question :D i feel like making it a browser game would cause perfornance issues also the era of browser games passed i feel like. Not everyone would be down to play it on a browser. But with steam? You can grow a bigger community if managed well, there is steam communities, posts, steam workshop and its just more widely used and accepted. Every flash game i used to play when i was a kid has a game on steam now. An example being fancy pants. They all publish it on steam and for a good reason. Times change and steam is better right now. A game with this size and quality SHOULD be its own thing on steam and not a browser game

2025-09-25 21:54:18 +0000 UTCPB3 does have ways to "obtain access" to items, no reselling though. Item owners can also discontinue item access as long as they can refund paid cost. I feel like something borderline illegal is happening with how people are reselling items in some of the games, especially when reselling causes no-gameplay games stay in the most popular Steam games (I heard this about banana one). Maybe I've just not been too involved in it to know for sure though. PB3 does allow obtaining skins, decorations and sound effects. Then I plan to eventually add way of donating towards Maps & Modules (aka game modes, ranking systems, useful Level Editor tools). -- > And what do you generally think of the idea of having weapon skins in PB3? I think there is a lot of potential for PB3 guns to have really good looking skins. In Plazma Burst games, especially in ranked games players have a very limited amount of time to precisely tell what weapon their enemies have, especially if we will try to move away from stryde-sniper 24/7 matches. Cammo is something that is realistic but it will be annoying enough for players to just start disabling custom skins in unfair ways. Custom maps and especially cooperative ones will likely have ways to alter appearance of weapons as well as make weapons be assembled out of multiple parts. So there is also that. Player skins won't matter as much though so we can try allowing higher customizations there.

2025-09-24 14:04:01 +0000 UTCOn Steam, what do you think about PB3 having a marketplace? From what I know, Steams toolkit (steamworks API) lets you have a marketplace where support can be enabled for tradable and sellable items and then also have their own properties like rarity, price, etc. Players could be able to make their own skins, assets (maybe for map making),even weapon skins, have them get approved by you and then other players can buy them and trade them. And what do you generally think of the idea of having weapon skins in PB3? I think there is a lot of potential for PB3 guns to have really good looking skins. Also my vote is Steam, because it would just help the games longevity. Steams toolkit offers so much, you can add your own DLC packs, expansion packs (if you for example plan to expand the story or give deeper story lines for characters like Noir Lime), achievements for campaign and even multiplayer stats like getting 1000 kills in ranked mode, invite system and also activity system like other games have that would show the player name and what map they are currently on in the friends list with the ability to instantly join their game and there are many more other things. The game can be free to play on steam , you would make all the profit from stuff like DLCs, Marketplace, so you dont have to worry about getting as many players as possible. Short answer: Steam is the way to go Looking forward to your answer and the PB3 beta

2025-09-24 12:13:02 +0000 UTCAll I wanna say is that IF it's possible and not too difficult, all of these should be an option. Just for pure availability and ease of access reasons. The more ways there are to play a game, the more likely it is to be played.

2025-09-24 05:19:59 +0000 UTCMy vote is that Steam is absolutely the way to go. You will get by far the most traffic and most amount of players (both completely new to the series as well as many, many people who will look at it and go 'Huh, I remember that game! Cool!'). You have wishlists, sales, the entirety of steamworks at your disposal, and most PC players don't want to leave the comfort of Steam. Look at how Epic Games Store has just continuously hemorrhaged money trying to compete with steam, but even paying for exclusives most people just wait until the game comes out on Steam. It's own launcher won't go down well IMO, I feel majority of paying customers are sick of having a dozen launchers to use. Not a bad idea overall, but I definitely see steam as being the premium option here. Being a browser game makes sense with the history, but my personal take is that the internet has drastically changed since PB2 was at it's most thriving point - I don't think browser games are taken as seriously, and I *really* don't expect people to be happy about _paying_ for a browser game. It would be great, but I think that either steam-only or browser + steam is the best way to go for a paid game. Also should theoretically lower the system requirements as browsers can add quite a bit of overhead (again, in my opinion). Downloading the game gives players more control; modding can become a better possibility should that be what you desire, tweaking and reshading as PC players tend to love to do, and importantly it means it's easier to run some form of the game offline or with awful internet. Just my opinion of course, but I think it would be a missed opportunity to not release on steam, even if alongside other places.
