New Music and Codebase Improvements.
Added 2019-02-04 08:20:38 +0000 UTCThe mp3 attached is the new outdoor version of the theme song. It will be blended with the indoor theme song as you go inside/outside the house. It's much quieter and has a bit of an oriental feel with the tres guitar.
As for Shinobu, I've been reworking and doing massive codebase improvements to clean up her backend.

Tons of bugs have been fixed and she no longer has that damned stuttering and twitching when blending between certain animations. Unfortunately this is not a visual update so I don't have .gifs to show. I have been dealing mostly with code. The current code clean up makes it far easier to attach logic to her job modules. Her brain is now organized like so:

Things she can do are divided into job levels. There is primary, secondary, and static. Primary jobs are the types of things that take full control of her actions. These are things like "Go pickup that over there", "Play Chopsticks", "Eat this donut". Secondary are lesser important actions that can layer on top of primary jobs. This includes headpatting, holding hands, kissing, etc. This allows her to multi task certain actions. The last one, static jobs are simply utility jobs that run in the background at all times. She has a static job for holding objects and actual movement.
The somewhat difficult part is deciding which behaviors should be primary and secondary. Not everything is black and white. When I first started this project back in v0.1, it was difficult to organize code since there were so many different behaviors being added to her logic. But now I have an even better idea of what kind of data structures and code handling she needs. The project is now at 103 animations with 14,180 lines of code.
By next update I should have the first animations and implementations for poking her. You will be able to poke her face and tummy and she will react accordingly. Stay tuned.

Forgot to say that wiring up those 100 animations would have been impossible with Unity's visual graph animation system. I made my own transition handler for legs, torso, and head.
