"Something Ends, Something Begins"
Added 2022-07-17 08:10:05 +0000 UTCThe bad news: I don't know how you'll take it, but the Going Rogue story is coming to an end. The next chapter will be the last. The game will be completely finished and have multiple endings.
The good news is that I will start working on a new game that will also focus on choices, story, realistic characters, and graphics. Only this time, I already have one year of experience under my belt.
I know this will seem like bad news to some of you, but I think it just means I'm completing it on time. I don't want to suck the story up, make it tedious and gray, and write until everyone is bored. I think that ending on time is essential, too.
And no less importantly, I want to start a new project, applying what I've learned over the year.
The fundamental difference with the new project will be that I want to fully develop the story before I start the first chapter. This will allow me to make the story more detailed and the characters more realistic. I'll be able to create more mysteries that will open up as the story progresses. And I want to change the way I interact with Patrons. I want you to be able to directly influence the story, not only during the game but also in your votes. To do this, I want to make branches in the plot that will be selected by votes on Patreon. These are just ideas for now, but I think I can make it happen.
What are the plans for the future?
The next update will take longer than usual. I can't tell you how long, but you know that absolutely all updates were released with the same schedule - once every two months. I hope you have already made sure that I do not sit idly while you support me and have never broken the schedule and made updates quite substantial. This time it will take longer, at least three months. There are several reasons. First - the last chapter is as branchy as possible, and I'm not sure how long it will take to work on all the branches and endings. Second - I want to completely finish the game and release the final version, which requires no more improvements. The same version will then be released on Steam (But much later, by the end of the year, I think.). Third - I want to give you specific information about the next game at the same time as releasing the final chapter. To do this, I need to at least make a complete story structure and at most create the main characters. I want no more than three months between the release of the last chapter of Going Rogue and the release of the next game.
So that's the news. Let me know what you think. I hope you're as excited as I am about the new project.

2022-07-18 08:32:30 +0000 UTCYes, but quite often TV shows after one successful season try to make as much money as possible and release the next ones of much lower quality, because that's not what the story was originally designed for. I don't want to do that, I'd rather do something new, especially since I'm sure it will be better.
2022-07-18 07:30:24 +0000 UTCIt will definitely be the same genre, but I expect significant improvements. A more developed story, 60 fps animation, a redesigned system of engagement with Patrons. The user interface I redesigned in the last update, I think it will remain almost unchanged.
2022-07-18 07:27:45 +0000 UTCAs much as I would like it to continue into having Seasons like a TV show, I look forward to the next game. Any hints for what the next game will entail like genre or will it be completely different from Going Rogue?
