Let's talk about the new game
Added 2022-10-21 14:41:07 +0000 UTCThe latest chapter of Going Rogue has been completed. I think you all have already played it, so it's time to talk about what's coming next.
Today I'm going to tell you about the new game. I'll start with the most important things, and then in the following posts, I'll focus on specific aspects.
The plot of the game. That's the description I would have made if I had to put it on Steam right now.
You came to consciousness in the trunk of a car. You don't remember who you are and how you got here. Your hands are handcuffed, and two dead bodies are lying around. But very soon you will learn that this is not the biggest of your problems.
Will you make it out alive? Will you find out who kidnapped you and why? Will you know whom you can really trust and who is just using you for their own purposes?
The answers to these questions depend only on you.
A thriller in the adult visual novel genre. Beautiful girls. Interesting plot. Quality pictures and animations. Lots of choices and consequences. And, of course, hot scenes.
Something like this. The description is very superficial, but I do not want to reveal the plot too much, and besides, I will dwell on the essential aspects in more detail in the following posts. Meanwhile, I'll tell you what the main differences from Going Rogue will be.
The style of the game will remain the same. It will be an adult visual novel, possibly with elements of QTE and the consequences of choice. But in my opinion, there will be some significant differences:
1. The length of the game. I am planning a three-year project. The pace of development will be about the same as Going Rogue, which means the game should end up lasting three times as long.
2. The plot has been thought out in advance. I currently have a plot tree made up from the very first scene to the end of the game. I have all of the main characters designed already. I understand who they are, their goals, and how they will fit into the story. This is a very important point that will make the game feel more immersive. Previously, I could not afford to do this for two reasons. First, I didn't know if I could pull it off and how long I would be doing it. Now I can see the result, and I can firmly say, based on it, that I will finish the next game. This means that I can invest in long-term development right from the start. Secondly, I didn't have the necessary experience, and it was much harder for me to predict what I would need and what kind of difficulties I would face.
I want to add that although the main story tree is complete, I need to make more secondary content to make it bigger. The main storyline makes up about 70% of the game. There will be a separate post about that.
3. Resolution. A 4k version will be available for the next game.
5. Quality of models. I will use the new version of Genesis 9 models in the next game for female characters. It came out a few days ago and is a significant breakthrough. Just the fact that they will be using 8k HD materials should increase the realism significantly. The last time the models were updated was in 2017.
6. Supporter participation in the development of the game. Unfortunately, there is no final solution. About my plans, I've already said before. I want some decisions to be made in-game and some to be voted on Patreon. For example, at the end of the chapter, the main character will get a choice of two tasks, and on Patreon, you choose which one he will pick. And at the end of each chapter in the game will be a voting date and on what topics. But so far, I have not been able to think through enough of these branches in the story. I'm working on it, and there will be some form of voting, but I can't promise yet exactly what will turn out. I may have to mix it up with votes on clothing, etc.
7. The 60 fps animation is also still in question. I doubt that with my current hardware, I can do 4k in quality as well as the last chapter of Going Rogue and also increase the fps in the animations to 60. I'll give it a try, but I can't promise yet. And maybe sales on Steam will be successful enough that I can afford to upgrade my graphics card. Overall, it's still a question.
The post turned out to be quite lengthy, so the rest of the information will follow later. If you have any questions or suggestions, please write in the comments or on Discord.
And thank you for your support :)

2022-10-24 05:02:36 +0000 UTCI don't like choices that lead to a loss. I think it's an imitation of a choice. I don't plan it. The only exception might be at the very end, as it was in Going Rogue.
2022-10-23 10:37:42 +0000 UTCI just hope there won't be choices that lead to death and game over. This would be very annoying.
