Hi! I'm back from vacation, now I'm ready to continue development with renewed energy :)
While on vacation I finished the text as promised. I finished the second chapter, it turned out to be about 15000 words. The renders aren't finished yet, but there's not much left, 4 scenes.
I also realized that I wasn't keeping up with rendering the animations, I think I'm getting a little better at it, and now the animations are longer and one can take up to a week to render. So I decided to build a new PC, and keep the old one as a rendering machine. Just finished setting everything up yesterday, and today was the first night it worked and will now render 24/7. This also took an awful lot of time, installing Windows from scratch, transferring game files so nothing gets lost, setting up folder synchronization between the two PCs so I can do scenes on one and render on the other. Hopefully now I won't have to return to this issue for a couple years.
While still on vacation I came up with a few plot ideas. First, I think that in the first chapter it would be a good move to give players the option of not helping Luna when they first meet her. Secondly, right now the second chapter starts with you going back to Eva. I don't really like forcing a story path too much on the player. It wouldn't be a bad idea to make an alternate option here as well.
Of course I can not completely make separate storylines, where any of the main characters will not be present, because it multiplies the amount of work, but still want to give as many options for players to choose.
And I also want to re-examine the options for responses in dialogs, I think they are mostly either positive or neutral. It would be nice to add villain point of view too. But this is not yet promised, I need to analyze everything, how long to do it.
In general, I think that in late August-early September, a new chapter will be released, at least this is the timing to which I am now striving and which seem realistic to me.
