I want to introduce you to an interesting project by another developer – Move The Chains by MissFortune

Hi, today I want to tell you about a new visual novel, Move The Chains. It quietly started development in late 2022 and an initial release of nearly 1,100 renders in July of 2023, and while the second episode is currently in development, it will be nearly the same. A Steam page is currently up for wishlists, as well.

About Move The Chains:

Move The Chains is a choice-driven adult visual novel that puts you into the shoes of a hot-button athlete who finds himself being given a second chance after spending a year behind bars. The road to redemption is a long one, but it's packed with girls, love, drama, and of course, sex.

Story:

Touted as the nation's top cornerback, a five-star recruit out of Inglewood with scholarship and NIL offers from some of the top universities in the country, you finally have your goal in sight. Getting yourself and the woman who practically raised you out of the dump you called home. But the reality you worked yourself to the bone to create comes crashing down on the night of the semifinals against Mater Sei.

After nearly a year behind bars, you find yourself free once more. Knowing that no college was going to come near you, you resigned yourself to life beyond football before that gavel even came down. That is, until you run into a mysterious someone behind sunglasses - a two-time MVP on the biggest stage of them all - looking to recruit you to the Texas A&N Wolves. But before you can even get past the starting pistol, another obstacle lands right in front of you. An obstacle that forces you to take matters into your own hands.

What you’ll find in Episode 1:

- 1,040 FHD, high-end still renders downscaled from 4K.

- 23 Animations through 3 scenes.

- Approx. 3 hours of content.

- A fresh, unique UI that tears itself away from the Ren'py standard (and is currently being redone for Episode 2!)!

What’s to come in future releases of Move The Chains?:

- A fairly complex, but rather simple measurement system for you as a player. Do you want to train? Do you want to party? Study film? Improve your psychological and physical well-being? Train too hard and the consequences might catch you, train too little and it might bite you. The decision is yours.

- A deeper implementation of “Superstar Rating”, which introduces how you interact with other teams and the media, and how they interact and/or view you.

- A character menu to view all characters, their likes/interests/personality traits, and whether or not you’re interested in them. It’ll be quite basic to start, but will eventually become a log for events with said characters as your relationships grow. This will exist for LIs and non-LIs alike

Love Interests:

Diana

Your best friend. Your partner in crime. One of the few people you’re certain would’ve taken a bullet for you, as cliche as that sounds. Call it what you may, but your friendship never developed into anything further. Until you realize that it was never as platonic as you thought.

Yuna (Yu Na)

Your first love. Your first ex. After the passing of her mother, the distance between the two of you only grew until your relationship felt like a distant memory. But as the red strings tighten, and you find her traveling to Texas with you, sparks fly once more.

Maya

Only the second person you’ve met in the Lone Star State, Maya is your lawyer and seemingly an NIL hookup. Lost in the fray of independence and education, she’s unwittingly let her personal life fall to the wayside. No romances, no children, nor any real friends beyond those she works with. Maybe a rising star in college sports could fix that, but it doesn’t come without hurdles of its own.
