Wile I personally thought Kite was dead, I have watched 4 Hunter x Hunter live reactions and your the only ones that thought he was dead, many thought he was still alive but brainwashed by Pitou.

We know but we can't communicate that to Gon and so we gotta watch him go down this dark road without being able to do anything with that knowledge.

Also, Kite was the one who gave Pitou the idea of having a healing ability because she originally wanted to revive him after their fight.
