You seemed to get it based on a comment you made, but just in case, basically State of Grace through Begin Again is the original “standard” album, then The Moment I Knew through State of Grace Acoustic is the original “deluxe” album. She also released Ronan as a separate standalone single at the time, and that’s why it’s where it is in the track listing. She wanted to rerecord the song to own it, but it wasn’t originally on the album, so it comes after the end of the original deluxe version, but before the Vault Tracks (which, in case you don’t know, are basically unreleased songs that were written for the original album but scrapped. She adds them on as she’s releasing her re-recorded Taylor’s Versions as an extra incentive for fans to listen to the versions of the albums that she owns.) It’s a little confusing at first, so I just wanted to leave this comment because it explains why the track listing is where it is. The album seems to pick up randomly again towards the end because of the vault, so that’s why haha. Songs like Message In A Bottle and The Very First Night would have originally replaced ones like We Are Never Getting Back Together and 22.

Excellent vault, and it was SO fun to finally get versions of Better Man and Babe in her own voice after all those years. Have you listened to the Little Big Town/Sugarland versions of those songs?

Taylor reached out to her and got permission to put her journal to music. Most of the song is taken right from her journals. The song breaks me every time. 💔 Oh, and later on in the reaction you said you love petty Taylor. Same. Petty Taylor is awesome. 😎

You should check out the following: 1. Better Man, live at the Bluebird Cafe. Taylor surprises audience and plays a live acoustic version. Better Man is a song she gave to a group called little big town, and they took it to #1 and won CMA Song of the Year and Grammy for Country Group Performance, and was nominated for Grammy Country Song of the Year. 2. Babe, music video by Sugarland. Taylor gave Babe to Sugarland and they made it a big hit, Taylor stars in the music video and she sings background vocals on the track. 3. We are Never Ever Getting Back Together: Live Rock version. This is a must if you do anything. 4. I bet you think about me, music video. This is a great music video. Blake Lively directed it. Miles Teller stars in it (his real wife is in it briefly too, they are very close friends of Taylor’s) and Taylor starts in it. Also a brief cameo of Aaron Dessner, who produced the track, near the end.

Speak Now and Red are really interesting as they’re the albums that are really obviously the transition from girlhood to adulthood and Red really showcases that the first earth shattering heartbreak of a serious long term relationship and how it rocks your world and changes you forever. I’m interested to see your impressions of Speak Now—I think it’s a really interesting album but it’s actually not one of her more commercially successful ones.

She never recorded them originally. Better Man and Babe were given to a couple country artists before and they went #1 on the country charts for them.

Red is one of Taylor's favorite records. Speak Now is super special because she was getting a lot of criticism in the industry, people saying she didn't write her own songs, etc. So she decided to make speak now an entirely self written project! It's wonderful and hilarious while being incredibly well-written. Lots of emotions and nostalgia. Experiencing a more grown-up kind of love for the first time. Cant wait!🥹💜
