Here’s my theories 1) I feel like the original why Simon could originally Maddie was because he at some point a near death experience (like Xavier) but only in the school. There’s been couple times where he got hit pretty hard. So I just assume a concussion. Maybe. 2) I do think that the veil thinned between but I feel like when Maddie was running into her body Xavier and them would saw her running and the other ghost for a little 3) I think maybe it’s something sacrificial going with the school. I feel like for every live that is reclaimed so one has to stay. To keep “the balance” between the afterlife and living
