Four Forests

Weapon (scimitar), legendary (requires attunement)

Crafted from the spine of a newly sprouted leaf from the apex of the Tree of Life in the Fey Realm, the Four Forest artifact was created by one of the earliest Archfey, simply known as The First Elf. This artifact is one of four divine gifts bestowed by her upon the initial wave of elves migrating from the Fey Realm to the Material Realm. The fresh leaf, imbued with all four blessings of nature, is inherently unstable, yet it holds the essence of the changing seasons. This instability allows it to transition between four distinct forms, each representing a different season and accompanied by unique magical abilities, symbolizing the cyclic and eternal nature of time. The weapon now resides within the Second Tree, situated at the heart of Cernunnos Forest, where it is safeguarded by the descendants of the original tribe, serving as a reminder of their ancestral heritage and the bond between the two realms.

Forged from a leaf of the Tree of Life in the Fey Realm, this scimitar can shift through four distinct seasonal forms. When you're holding the weapon, it emanates a unique aura corresponding to its current season. The weapon always starts in its Spring form after being attuned. Each time you score a critical hit with this weapon, it transitions to its next form. The weapon's form and corresponding aura last until it transitions to the next form. After cycling through all four seasons and back to spring form, the weapon gains 1 charge. The weapon can hold up to 4 charges.

Spring’s Sympathy. While in this form, a 15-foot radius around you blossoms with vibrant flowers and fresh grass, the area becomes difficult terrain for a creature of your choosing. Once per turn, when you hit with an attack using this weapon, you can grant temporary hit points to a creature within the radius equal to 2d4 + 1d4 for each charge the weapon has.

Summer's Smile. While in this form, the area within a 15-foot radius around you becomes intensely hot, causing creatures of your choice that start their turn within the radius to take 2d4 fire damage + 1d4 for each charge the weapon has.

Autumn’s Apathy. While in this form, a 15-foot radius around you is covered in swirling autumn leaves, providing half cover to you and allies within the area and imposing disadvantage on ranged attacks against them. Once per turn, when you hit with an attack using this weapon, the target's speed is reduced by 10 feet, plus an additional 5 feet for each charge the weapon has until the end of their next turn.

Winter's Wrath. While In this form, a 15-foot radius around you is covered with a harsh freezing wind, and the ground becomes slick with ice, causing creatures that enter or start their turn in the area to make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or fall prone. Once per turn, when you hit with an attack using this weapon, it deals an additional 2d4 cold damage + 1d4 for each charge the weapon has.

Fifth Forest of The Fey (Hidden Feature)

“From the roots of life, where the four forests lay,

Through Spring's gentle touch and Summer's bright array,

To Autumn's gold dance and Winter's pale gray,

By the First Elf's decree,

Sing your song, Fifth Forest of The Fey!"

When the weapon has accumulated 4 charges, as an action, you can transform the blade into a radiant form that glows with prismatic light of the combined power of all four seasons for 1 minute. For the duration:

• All four auras are activated simultaneously.
• Once per turn, when you hit with an attack using this weapon, all seasonal effects that have an effect that will triggered upon landing a hit are triggered all at once.

At the end of the duration, all charges are consumed, and you suffer 1 point of exhaustion. After you use this feature, the weapon becomes dormant, unable to transition between seasons or use any of its features until you finish a long rest.

Sometimes, I have a concept, and regardless of the time you have or how difficult it would be, I get an irresistible urge to make it no matter what. This is one of those times... instead of one prompt for one sword... it's one prompt for four swords just because I really want to make them >___<
