Item - Flow Defying Belt

Martial Arts Set - River Tyrant Clan

Flow Defying Belt

Wondrous item, varies (requires attunement)

This decorated leather belt is an item typically worn by warriors of the River Tyrant clan, even in their day-to-day lives. The belt has become a sort of insignia, signifying their position within the clan and their identity as members of the River Tyrant clan. It is usually imbued with enchantments that increase the wearer's physical strength, particularly for those with a trained physique. This emphasis on strength is part of the clan's tradition. Most clan members, regardless of gender, are required to undergo rigorous physical training from an early age. Once they reach a certain level of mastery, they are awarded this belt as a symbol of their effort and dedication.

While attuned to this belt, you gain a bonus to your AC equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down). Additionally, You gain advantage on Strength saving throws and Strength (Athletics) checks.

Blessing of The River Tyrant. You count as one size larger for the purposes of your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, pull, lift, or drag, and for the size of creatures that you can attempt to grapple or shove. Additionally, you can move at your full speed while dragging a grappled creature that is at least one size smaller than you.

Comments

For the gauntlet it's obviously the additional features (also the bonus to attack and damage and number of charges), while for this belt and also the robe, it's the increasing bonus to AC, as the bonus increases as your proficiency bonus increases (at level 1-8 with your +2-3 proficiency, the bonus is +1, at level 9-15 with +4-5 the bonus is +2, at level 16+ with +6 proficiency it's +3).

What's the varying rarity for this set? Like what benefits are there for higher rarities

I dig it. Has a surprising amount of utility, would go great on any one speccing into strength. Or like the Astral Self monk where they can use wisdom for strength roles, cuz those technicalities are fun
