This staff is a standard weapon wielded by the warriors of the Azure Dragon Clan, known for their mastery of wind-based martial arts. Elegantly decorated with carvings of their ancestral guardian, the Azure Sky Wyrm—often called The Cloud Wyrm—the weapon, named The Twisting Tempest, carries the essence of the mighty wyrm's power. Each end of the staff is equipped with enchanted apparatus which resemble wind turbines that, when activated, summon swirling whirlwinds capable of deflecting attacks or enhancing the wielder's strikes with elemental force. Crafted from high-quality Lahanium mined from the clan's mountainous territory, the staff symbolizes the clan's wealth and prosperity, a proof to their status as one of the most affluent and influential members of the Hundred Guardian Alliance.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Gale Strike. When you hit a creature of Large size or smaller with a melee attack using the Twisting Tempest, you can choose to create a burst of wind. The attack deals an extra 1d6 force damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 10 feet away from you in a straight line. If the target hits an obstacle, it takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage.

Eye of the Storm. As a bonus action, you can slam the staff into the ground, creating a swirling wind vortex around you until the end of your next turn. The vortex has a 20-foot radius centered on you. The area is difficult terrain for creatures other than you. When a creature of Large size or smaller starts its turn in the vortex, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be pulled 5 feet toward you and knocked prone. Ranged weapon attacks passing through the vortex have disadvantage, and creatures inside gain half cover against attacks from outside. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
