Weekly update: Taking stock editon
Added 2024-07-29 04:25:59 +0000 UTCThanks everyone for the input on the brewing. On the back of that I'm currently going through a review of the game's pacing, core mechanics, and other flow related things. When I started this I figured I would keep all my focus on getting scenes out there and deal with the pacing toward the end. However, that's not really how people consume adult games... or any game really.
Even though I'm in the early stages of development people want to play the game for what it is and a lot of people are unhappy with the slow place for higher corruption. I'm going to be working on improving that. I'm also looking for missing gaps in the existing scenes. I really want to get everything up till you unlock waitressing fully built out and in a better place. It's a daunting task because this kind of design isn't my specialty. But I identify it's something that needs to be done sooner rather than right before release. So I'll be focusing some more energy on that. Like I said before I'll wait till v0.4 or v0.5 before I do a complete edit of these systems because it will break the saves and I want everyone to be ready for it when I do.

im more into slow advancing, making a games that goes to fast not giving you the time to really take it, is a bit boring, i know this is a type of game, but still, i myself like to take the time

2024-07-29 08:29:10 +0000 UTCUsually balancing is annoying linear math, like, a game is shooting for 12hr run time, you want to get to level 20 by the end and you want that _/- curve (I think it’s called a logarithmic curve) And then you put how much XP is gainable and make levels based on the curve. So it makes things get unlocked faster at the start and then takes a little more xp to hit other levels and then becomes almost static again for levels. This way unlocking more ways to gain xp doesn’t explode level gains.
