i tend to think best about a character while im painting them, so here im painting another early sketch and thinking about things like what they do and who they are plus keeping in mind ideas that i want to add or change going forward. the tattoo on the arm started as a weird effect from the rough brush that i use. im not trying to fully develop that right now but just basically put in a note on this painting for when i do the next one. next time, working from the start with that in mind, ill be able to either develop that more fully or decide i dont want to use it and both are good options to pursue. besides that painting gets me thinking about materials, textures, etc, thinking about whether im happy with the initial selected colors (im still iffy) and other studium type stuff.

im thinking about like a really clueless accountant that sort of fell into their job right now. she saw an opening for a position she had no experience in but through multiple coincidences ended up getting hired. i like the name piper so im gonna use that one. it gives the feeling of a creative type to me and that seems appropriate given the other part of her story so far. still very rough tho! more soon
