Exploration is one of the best features of a game and probally why I enjoy games like minecraft or breath of the wild so much. This looks like a fun take and if it gets to a playable state I'd very much play it. But if not it was fun to see!

Nicely done! I'm glad to hear how much progress you've made, as someone who also tends to start projects and not see them to completion 😅 Funnily enough, I've been learning Godot as well, after years of dipping a finger in programming but not sticking to it haha. I should look into joining one of the many, many jams on itch sometime; I took part in one years ago, and I feel like the "pressure" of having other people you're working with helped keep me on task :V

i totally see what you mean, yeah a lot of crafting-type games are like "menus and spreadsheets the game"!!

i love it! it's the best off the shelf engine i've ever used, it's so intuitive and runs super well. i want to say that i think ui is very important for most games, my point here is to carry this idea that ui makes games a bit less immersive to it's logical conclusion and just have no non diegetic ui at all. i think the trade off for a good ui is more than worth it in almost every respect, but in crafting games in particular i've found that there's an over reliance on them leading to spending a huge amount of time looking at ui elements instead of the game world.
