Hello everyone π
First of all, I would like to thank every one of you for all the lovely things you offered to my work throughout 2021, whether it's financial support or shares, likes, comments, DMs, etc...
Every day it gives me the smile and when I doubt myself, it motivates me enough to keep trying. Be sure that everything you do has a big positive impact on our The Sims 4 community and in particular on my custom content work. I don't know how to thank you enough for all of that! πβ€π
Long short story:
From 2009 to July 2020, I was bed driven at least 20 hours per day without being able to move, open my eyes, talk, etc... Nobody knew the reasons so I never receive medicine or financial help.
One day, I asked myself what I was able to do every week that will give me joy in my life and I thought about interior designs. I became a nanny 2 to 3 hours per day and later, I spent all my savings back then to buy a computer in December 2014 and built houses in The Sims 4 and a few months later, I discovered Sims4Studio and how to create my own floors, wallpapers and rugs which I shared on a Blogspot.
I tried for years to create my own meshes from scratch and to bake my textures but my cheap computer never allowed me so I did recolours instead. At first, I gave credits every time I found the original file but a lot of players - not creators except one - sent me insults and sometimes death threats on every platform. When I gave credits, I was insulted because I didn't create the mesh myself, every day, and when I didn't, I was insulted because they think it's "stealing" but around once every 2 months. So, I stopped credits to preserve my mental health. I'm not proud of this part.
In 2017, a lot of people asked me to open a Patreon. Which I didn't accept for months as I knew I wouldn't be able to be consistent. But those people were still ok to support, so I thought that if I saved all the financial support, one day I'll be able to buy all the things I need to create my own 3D models. Which was the case at the end of 2019. But, I was even sicker than in 2017 so I was able to create CC around only 3 hours per month. Not enough to mesh anything. I used the money to stop working as a nanny instead and try to find a medical diagnosis.
In July 2020, I found myself what was the reason for my illness and I completely recovered! I started in October to be a full-time student as a front-end developer but in February 2021, my old 2014 computer died π I had two choices: buy the cheapest computer that allow me to code, or buy a more expensive computer that cost all my savings (once again π) but will allow me to create my own 3D models from scratch and buy all the software licences I needed for a year.
I choose the second option and here I am π€©
All this story emphasis how much you are all important, even more than you think β€β€β€ Everything you do can entirely change the life of somebody else. And also that if you have a dream, as ridiculous as it is impossible, be patient and keep trying. You'll find your way! π
Happy New year 2022!
You're loved β€π
