Hello everyone ๐ค I hope you're all good!
Here is a news post. If you don't want to be spoiled, don't read it ๐ I'll show you today the second part of my process to create a CC.
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
So, when I did my UV map in Blender, triangulate and edge split the model (which I didn't know a few months ago that without it, we'll see strange textures and lines on the object when in-game), I'm importing all the LODs and shadows into sims4studio and applied a full white texture.
For those who don't know yet, LOD 0 is for when you're using high graphic settings (the most detailed version of an item), LOD1 for medium graphic settings (medium detailed version of an item) and LOD2 for low graphic settings. This version should have the very minimum amount of details and so polycounts. When I'm able to create all my LODs and respect the TSR limit for polycounts per tile, I know that every computer would be able to run my CC without any lag.

When in-game, I'm looking at my test version of the CC to see if I can notice any issues or weird things. That's why I'm not doing my textures yet because it happened so many times I have to redo everything and as texturing takes me a lot of time, that's better ๐

I'm also trying my item with other CC I have, to see if it works fine altogether and if I found another CC idea, etc...
This time, luckily, everything is working fine and it has exactly the size I wanted (You'll still be free to resize it if you think it's too small or too big). So I know now that I can start my textures ๐ฅณ

I'm using Substance Painter to create all my swatches. I always try with white, light wood, dark wood and black textures first, and then I play with Substance (sometimes too much than I should ๐) to find any other texture ideas. I never create more than 8 swatches per item because as I'm creating HQ textures, the package file would be too heavy.

Once again, I go back in-game to verify what I've done, because textures in Substance Painter do not look exactly the same in The Sims 4. Even in different Sims 4's worlds, textures are changing because the light is not the same.

When I was happy with all my textures, I remembered that it was a bit boring to fill my planter (when I was testing it with other CC). So I decided that I will add some slots to it and tadam ๐๐ฅณ That's a time saver ๐

Here is a quick preview of the 8 swatches I made for my planter.
Now that the planter has his final look, it's time for me to create all the previews I'll need such as custom thumbnails, and GIFs, in-game previews with decor, any images I'm using for my website, Instagram, Tumblr and TSR (when I know I have a chance they accept my item).

At first, I'm using Adobe dimension to create a render of all my swatches. When all my 8 swatches versions are made, here is what I get:

And then, I'm using Procreate on my Ipad to add the name of the item or the collection, my logo and gold stippling around the item.
That's all for today! Full love everybody โคโคโค
