Hello everyone 🤗

I haven’t shared much new CC this week (sorry about that 😭), but I promise I’ve been hard at work! 😱 I’ve been tackling something both exciting and frustrating: carvings and ornaments. These details are essential for classic, romantic, or shabby chic styles, but as I told you, they’re a polycount nightmare 😅

For example, my “Antique Chest” from the Dark Academia collection is already 24k polys, and adding ornaments would push it to at least 80k—way too high for The Sims 4. Most tutorials aim for 250k polys, which is just impossible.

Determined to find a solution, I looked for a way to keep the polycount and work hours manageable. While it’s normal to spend more time on Shabby Chic Collection CCs, two weeks for one piece isn’t realistic (not 2 weeks of modelling but 2 weeks between 2 CCs as modelling objects is only a small part of everything I do as a CC creator).

I tried creating the illusion of detail with images—it works, but the result isn’t pretty or realistic enough, and it doesn’t allow for a worn effect on edges. It’s okay, but it’s not what I want.

So, I kept searching ... And finally… I found something!

Managed to add height and a worn effect on the edges using just two different ugly shape images 😂
