It's time to sound off with your thoughts, opinions, and favorite moments from May’s episodes! Did you learn something new that stuck out to you? Was there a moment that scared the absolute sh*t out of you? Has anybody flown around in a mortar and pestle yet? Have you traveled to the top of the Google blacked-out mountain? Leave your comments below! We can all reply to each other and have a discussion about stuff that was interesting to us in May’s episodes!
So on episode 147 I want to know if the Ashon man (spelling!) like does he stink while he follows you around your house?

I just listened to the Mermaid episode and the story of Melcenaro (I think was the name: the girl whose mom was fairy and dad was human and then she turned into dragon) resembles Disney “Maleficent” a lot to me. Especially the live action Angelina Jolie movies. Disney taking inspiration from every crevice to get “the little mermaid” and to me “maleficent”

Also, my dad insists that the mortar and pestle would be inferior to the broomstick as a flying object lmao.

A little late, but I wanted to throw in my two cents!
First, I love all the folklore incorporated into Aly's episodes this month, as it really provided a deeper look into topics I had a basic understanding of. I even was telling my dad about Baba Yaga after listening to that episode because it was so interesting. I tried to tell my grandma about selkies, but she didn't care lmao. Plus, your different reading voices are so fun, Aly!
Of course, Nat's commentary is always so entertaining! I also really enjoyed learning about the blacked-out zones on Google, because I've never actually heard of that phenomenon. I appreciated the Swiftie discourse as I've gotten back into her music recently so catching up on all the drama has been a ride for me, too lol.
Great job to both of you gals this month!

I always love listener stories. I loved the mermaid and baba yaga episodes because it’s like what Aly said - we know them but we also don’t know a whole lot about them. I hope to see more folklore-inspired eps from different countries

I feel close to Nat on the spirit plane when I listen to Karma (feat Ice Spice)

I love all y’all’s topics but I have to say the listener stories hold a special place in my heart! Always fantastic banter in those episodes and great stories from the haunties

Dude the mermaid episode where Nat starts talking about how she feels like she just got fucked for 2 hours straight had me cracking THE FUCK UP. It was so accurate to 1) how the episode made me feel and 2) how a 2 hour long fuck sesh makes you feel. Here’s to getting our backs blown out, and for many more blow outs yet to cum 🍻

The Google black zones. Remember it was just a couple of years ago when our government announced/admitted that aliens are real. To me, those black out zones are areas that have *yet* to be admitted to. Also, I have a co-worker visint from China, and there Google is banned. It makes me wonder what they use for transportation. Reminds me that, while "google is everything," it's still an American company, and there are limitations to what we can see.
And Baba Yaga? Loved it too. Went deep on that one. Maybe a little too deep. :)

I'm really not sure which one was even my favorite this month, they were all so good! All the Russian stuff, especially the russalki, reminded me of a book called Deathless, which I adored, and now want to read again.
The listener stories this episode really took the cake, though. Tbh I think I've already blocked some of them out.

Ok so on the topic of time slips and stuff -- I have accidentally fell down lots of rabbit holes of weird stories. You need to look into the Dodleston Messages!!

The Oz listener time slip, doppelganger, parallel universe story. Was out on the golf course mowing on a beautiful super sunny 77°F/25°C and legit had goosebumps and chills. There was no wind.

The Doppelganger Listener Story that triggered Aly's flight or flight response 😂
