Saw this article and RAN to the Patreon. I know there has to be a few other true crime haunties out there following this:

tl;dr Over a period of 26 years around 10 - 18 sex workers were murdered in the Long Island area of New York. Basically, in 2010 a woman went missing and police dug up an area of the beach looking for her body and ended up stumbling upon multiple women's bodies buried at the same location. The murderer was never caught and was given a bunch of catchy nicknames, but the most popular of these was "The Long Island serial killer" (also referred to as LISK, the Gilgo Beach Killer, the Manorville Butcher, and the Craigslist Ripper). This murderer rose to the same level of infamy as The Golden State Killer. TODAY it was announced that AN ARREST WAS MADE!! From Wikipedia: "Rex Heuermann, 59, of Massapequa Park, was arrested near his office in Midtown Manhattan on July 13, 2023". Anyone else have more info or been following the case all these years? - Aly

Thankful for the detectives and all the effort that people put into solving these cases. I'm so grateful for them. I wish that society protected sex workers better. My best friend was a sex worker for a number of years so stories like this really hit home for me. It's like people don't see human beings when they look at them.

Oh, my god, I was so excited and relieved when I heard he’d been caught.

Me: living on long island in constant terror working in the sex industry. *sees this* I am experiencing haunted relief.
