2019: Changes & New Schedule

Hey, everyone!

Happy New Year! I hope y’all had a good restful holiday, or at least got to find a little time for yourself amid the end of year craziness. This was the first Christmas in a long time that I’ve gotten to actually relax, and not suffer through work crunch. Instead, I lounged in a pool and nursed my fucked up back in a hot tub and ate a lot of really good Mexican food. What did y’all get up to?

I wanted to talk to you folks about my plan for Patreon this year. I did not foresee that the majority of 2018 would be spent recovering from my extreme burnout after finishing Korra, so I’m very sorry this corner was quiet and inconsistent in its posting. I also finally received a formal diagnosis for my ADHD and am taking medication, which has begun to steadily improve my productivity and my general mental wellbeing (I cannot begin to describe to you how frustrating ADHD can be). SO. All the ambitions I had for this Patreon for 2018, I will actually implement for 2019. This means...

Thank you, all of you, for sticking around and supporting me here. I’ve recharged, I’ve got fresh motivation, and I’m ready to make things and have a heckuva good time doing it and sharing it with y’all. Here’s to a creative 2019! And if there’s anything else you’d like to see, leave your suggestions in the comments! :)

Love,
Irene

this all sounds great! i always enjoyed your collaborations with pat too so i look forward to seeing what shape that takes. recently i've been going back and forth about talking to a pro about adhd, been finding the memes a bit too relatable...

Ah, the 10 dollar thing is removed? Ahh bugger. Ah well, its not like I've been making anything lately.

Thank you, Chris! 💛

I'm glad to hear that you've recovered from your burn-out and got the help you need for your ADHD. I'm excited to see all the things you create this year!

No kidding!! ADHD really doesn't get the (notorious) credit it deserves. If it helps at all though, keeping a bullet journal vastly improved my productivity and alleviated a lot of guilt about not getting things done. If you decide to check it out, my advice would to be to keep it simple. Sometimes people go hard making it look cool and designing it but with ADHD, that can make you feel like your 'task' with it is complete and then you'll never touch it. Hope it helps!

Thanks so much!! Gosh it’s nice to know I haven’t been the only one feeling like a friggin’ failure trying to get anything done for my whole life haha, so thank you for the solidarity. Happy New Year!

I got diagnosed with ADHD as an adult too, so I FEEL YOU on how fucking invasive it is. Glad you got some actual rest for the holidays, hope your new year continues to be restful and rewarding!
