2022-12-11 14:10:18 +0000 UTCthe only way to watch them in their original form is to download some of the fanedits that reconstruct the original films. george lucas basically decided that the old versions shouldnt even exist when he made the changes and that attitude persists at disney for whatever reason. this one is probably the least tampered with. the jabbas palace song sequence, some edits to the sarlacc pit and then young anakin ghost at the end i think were the only real changes here.

2022-12-11 03:23:56 +0000 UTCwe have actually become a lot more puritanical in our depiction of women over time. now you cant even have a woman with sexy armor without people losing their shit and crying about how celebrating the beauty of women is somehow evil and wrong. look up characters like dejah thoris from the john carter stories which came out almost a century ago. leia is definitely partially based on this character. if you think what leia is wearing is provocative then just get a load of the princess of mars. skimpy is her middle name. from buck rogers to star trek to star wars and all the crappy less known scifi inbetween were not afraid to have female characters in revealing and exotic attire.
