New Game Announcement

I'm excited to reveal a VERY early look at The Wizard of Mynvelia.
The Wizard of Mynvelia is a roleplaying game set in the classic fantasy setting we've all come to love. The story will follow you, The Wizard in question. After having your powers drained by a demonic cult and your standing amongst your guild thrown to the dirt. You will be set to travel the realm, regain your power and reputation and leave your mark on continent of Mynvelia.

The history of Mynvelia is based on my own love of theological and occult history. With various in game factions being embroiled in longstanding political and religious turmoil. The Wizard will find themself caught up in the various conflicts of the realm both macro and micro.

Gameplay:

Will see you travelling around, meeting various characters and completing various quests and jobs for them. Most of this will be done through the regional page(The image with Westalis in the top left). With local areas being explored in a more point and click style.

I aim to have fully fleshed out turn based combat system. With up to three enemies to face, multiple waves and boss type enemies. The player will be able to establish a party of their own. Whether it's comprised of characters you meet along the way or summoned demons, tamed animals or even an army of the undead. The choice will be yours. The Wizard has six different disciplines to level. As well as several different items to equip and robes to wear all with stat effects. On a single play through you'll only be able to master a couple and with each having different spells and mechanics and the ability to combo them as you see fit, you'll be able to make the wizard your own.

The followers you meet will also be entwined into the story and quests. They'll have their own preferences and biases which effect how you build your party. For example the Holy Knight and religious zealot Hilde won't take to kindly to you raising the dead or summoning demons. So may wish to plan your builds and party accordingly.

Lewd Content:

Of course there'll be a multitude of lewd content. Other then having the typical romance options for the party characters. There'll be some other side events and mini games that fill various niches.

In Mynvelia, the magical order the player is apart of functions as a sort of mafia. Operating various establishments, getting involved in various levels of politics etc. So you may find yourself enchanting a waitress or parlor woman, maybe you've been tasked with getting information from prisoners kept in the dungeons. Maybe you just set up camp for the night and want to get frisky with a team mate.

The sexual content will be sewn throughout out the story and gameplay in various organic ways.

Progress:

 I have most of the main systems working. Travel around the realm, the turn based combat day/night cycles, interactive map, quest log etc. I still need to get a couple more menus screens set up, but otherwise the foundations are there.

What still needs to be done is the bulk of the actual content and art. With over 100 unique locations and art done for about 5%. There's also a lot character art and effect graphics to be done for the combat and spells etc.

I hope to have a playable alpha build ready by the end of the year. I'll update here as I go. After that builds out I'll be able to give a more firm date on completion. I won't be drip feeding the updates month by month. Patreon kind of incentivizes that, but i don't think it's good for you or the game. I'd rather just get it done and ready as a complete experience. With only a couple small alpha and beta releases along the way, just to test things out.

I'm going for a more low-res pixel art style because it will allow me to produce the quantity of art required at a much faster pace, to a much more consistent standard(plus it looks cool imo).

Can I ask that if you can make it so that after a certain level of 'lewd' for your teammates that you can have them use their body to help in certain situations. This could be optional so that it's not forced on players. Just a suggestion but still look forward to it.

More like Pokémon style. With one side going then the other. The player can decide whether a team mate blocks for them or not. The team mates then do what they want based on the situation. Each character will fill different roles. eg. healer, tank, mix up etc. You'll also be able to further affect how a specific character behaves by changing their outfit. Such that different move sets for the characters will be determined by their outfit and stance. The player will have to manage their mana and stamina. As they'll use that to cast spells or throw hands. With different spells having different strengths and weakness. Such as aoe, dot, stat effects, buffs, debuffs type bonuses/ weaknesses(eg. holy is effective agaisnt undead) etc. Also the different disciplines such as necromancy, druidry etc. will have slightly different mechanics for some of their spells etc. With those systems having a wider effect on gameplay. eg. you can raise a zombie horde, but don't expect people in town to be welcoming. I really want to make sure it's good system that's actually worth playing. Yes, it'll be in renpy. I'll post a more detailed break down on it when I have something more to show you.

This looks really promising! I really like how you are not drip feeding this game. With how TBC is my favorite game genre i have to ask is it going to be card based where you say randomly draw 5 cards and get a new one each attack or is it going to be more like pokemon/rpg maker style? Also are you making this in ren'py or a new engine? Sorry for the bombardment of questions.
