Adds MoTM Sea Elf as a playable race.
Aquatic animals have an extraordinary affinity with your people. You can communicate simple ideas to any Beast that has a swimming speed. It can understand your words, though you have no special ability to understand it in return.
1.0 Version: Gave you Petpal which essentially just allowed you to talk to animals without casting Speak With Animals. After reflecting on the matter I decided against this in 1.1.
*NEW* 1.5/2.0 Version: Gives you Proficiency with Animal Handling and expertise with Animal handling. With the focus on the source materials statement that you have no special ability to understand animals, I decided to buff Friend of the Sea for two reasons:
1. As far as I can tell there aren't any Sea Creatures to even talk to or a Tag that separates Sea Creatures. That would just make this passive kind of pointless to even have so I made it any animal.
2. Animal Handling allows you to be better at dealing with animals which follows the text of “ you have an extraordinary affinity with animals” and it does not mean you fully understand animals but they can typically understand you when using Animal Handling. So I made the passive give you Expertise with dealing with them instead, this way it's more balanced and this passive doesn't become a pointless Passive or something I just remove altogether.
Adds The One D&D (Revised Player’s Handbook 2024 Unearthed Arcana) version of the race, replacing the vanilla Drow.
