Mind you that ending had so much foreshadowing for those who did know, and all that was shown in the ending has already happened by now

Grisha resented his dad for pushing him so hard to keep his head down and obey, that when he was radicalized by the Eldian Restoration he ironically did the same, he pushed his son to resent him and his views. In a way Grisha's dad got through not his son but his grandson, though his son.
