One thing that I would like to point out, mainly to strike a conversation, is that while lelouch is kind of a selfish character, he also has the best outlook on situations like this. He’s a realist. It’s fine to have good intentions like suzaku, wanting everybody to get along, but the reality of the situation is that unless drastic measures are taken, lots more people are going to die by the hands of the emperor and his own goals. The emperor will not stop and the only thing that can stand up to someone like that is more of the same. Lelouch is driven by his hatred and will not give up until he succeeds in overthrowing the emperor. He doesn’t want to get civilians involved because this is not their fight. As he stated in an earlier episode, those who kill should always be prepared to be killed. Lelouch understands that he’s no hero, but instead he is a necessary evil, and in the end, he is saving more lives than if he did it suzaku’s way, no matter his intentions. His intentions aren’t even that bad because while he’s still selfish, his end goal is still to make the world a better place and the only way to do that is to dethrone the emperor.
