Not a chapter

Hello

I’m currently writing a SciFi story, and it is honestly more enjoyable to write than Legend of the Arch Magus (at least currently), so I’ve spent most of my free time writing it instead (>.<).

It is a personal preference, and I understand not everyone will like the genre. I also never thought I would write a story in that genre. I used to avoid SciFi whenever I saw the tag.

I’ll post the chapters of the sci-fi story here, then get back to writing the main story once I regain the spark.

The story is basically like this:

After suffering from an ambush, a dreadnought-class battleship is the sole survivor of a massive fleet. To prevent its technology from being acquired by space pirates, it warps to a faraway galaxy and lands on a primitive (smartphone era) planet.

The primitive planet is infested by monsters that are pouring out of portals/gates.

The only survivor of the ship’s crew – a Petty Officer promoted to Admiral rank due to circumstances – learns that it would take thousands of years for the ship to gather enough energy to warp back to the nearest outpost of the Galactic Federation.

In order to gather enough energy for the warp, he decides to create a Tower of Trials on the planet using the remaining power of the ship. The Tower helps the awakened (hunters) humans grow and unawakened humans awaken their powers. In return, the awakened humans release aether into the world’s atmosphere, which is then harvested by the ship.

It’s a win-win situation for both the ship and the awakened ones.

Tentative Title: I am the Tower Administrator!

I apologize for taking a detour in writing again.

Comments

LOL, actually just the snipet has gotten me interested.

Sounds very similar to the expeditionary force series and I think a few other series that have the same feel. Might be profitable or it might be over done. Either way good luck.

Nathan

I will read this. 🔥

It is so sad when writers tire on a great story only to start a lesser story. I’ve seen that with others, and almost always the second story is not nearly as good. Such seems to be true here.

Ron Packard

Yes. Thanks for the great suggestion!

Crazyblackchili

Thanks for the heads-up! I read a variety of genres so I'm looking forward to how this develops. One request... can you separate the different stories into different collections? That will make it easier for me to see the "latest" in each project. Thanks!

Sanagol

I paused the billing again. Thanks for all the input. :))

I think the new chapters of LOTA have been great but it’s literally the only book I’ve read in forever and I’m on my fourth time listening to the audio book I hope you come back to it soon Thank you for the great read

I think you need to find Lark a good girl or two (nothing wrong with harems) and let him live happily ever after. Here's an idea for the final scenario: Lark and Barkuvara sit down at a table and play a game of Texas hold em for control of the continent. (At least it'll be over quickly).

Michael Strong

Sounds like a definite read to me and considering the fact you done 13 books in a row you do need a break from the story to let other creativity out and when your ready you can always return to it.

TheGokudragon

Sounds good

Shannon Bryce

Really excited to see this new story and how it goes

Delightfully Joyful

Was afraid this was gonna happen. I'll be withdrawing payments for awhile. Will check in around Christmas to see what's up. I've read/watched so many trial/tower like stories in the past few years that my bar for even bothering with them is high. Take care.

Cameron cansler

I'm in!

I understand that you are finding it difficult to keep the motivation for this simply amazing story that you have been writing for 7 years. I personally feel that the recent chapter have been rushed and not to the same quality as the others and previous books. Especially since the underground city and leaving the empire. I would rather you pause the subscription charge again for the supporters or reduced. And that you focus on im other projects that give you more enjoyment rather than forcing a half cooked ending to the Arch Magus. I’ve had an active subscription for years now and I am sad to have to cancel it.

OetarLan

I have not heard of that one but will check it out, thanks.

Louis Pösselt

How long will the hiatus be for?

Maico Salgado

A Tower origin story lol. Nice. Usually the towers come from mysterious op unseeables. I like

Asch

It's actually inspired by A Lone SciFi Transmigrator in Otherword Forum. I binged read that novel, it's really good. I'm familiar with Captain Corinth tho

Crazyblackchili

Maybe more on nano stuff haha. not really decided yet

Crazyblackchili

This sounds like an excellent story. Personal opinion the rank increase seems not needed unless for the plot.

IntheRaccon

So Captain Corinth (on Earth?)+ (insert any Korean Tower/Portal Manwha)?

Louis Pösselt

Question, so the tower admin is just from a more advanced civilization...then these "hunters" with skills/enhancements should be more "tech magic" vs the traditional fantasy sense? For example accelerated healing via Nano Bots Mastery ? I've seen numerous genres with hunter themes but the powers always seem supernatural vs based on science. This premise does give off Battlestar Galatica vibes which is a good thing.🤯

Michael Kiamzon

OK but this sounds interesting, I like it

Darwin Baide

I still like it, but it's kind of hard to proceed after the 4th chapter. Still thinking of a proper way for the MC to "reveal" his ability to regress to his fellow goblins.

Crazyblackchili

What happened to the goblin story?
